Treatment of Children and Families
I
have extensive experience treating children and adolescents, as well
as families in distress. My practice encompasses all diagnosable disorders
with a focus on issues of problematic behavior, identity and self-esteem,
drug and alcohol abuse, victimization and trauma. Building a solid rapport
with children and adolescents is crucial to developing a treatment schedule
for them. My education, training and experience enables me to treat
all ages regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, religious
affiliation or sexual orientation.
In
addition to my private practice as a licensed Psychologist, I have experience
as a children's social worker (CSW) with the Los Angeles County Department
of Children and Family Services as a supervising social worker and with
Aspira Foster and Family Services in California as a supervising social
worker. Prior to that experience, I worked at 1736 Family Crisis Center;
which was the original battered woman's shelter in Redondo Beach that
evolved into a comprehensive, multi-faceted family treatment center.
This additional training and experience allows me to assess, diagnosis
and treat all aspects of children and family distress.
I
have attended numerous additional training and certification courses
to ensure I am utilizing the most current and scientifically researched
treatment interventions.
